The USMC Modular Assault Pack is built for short-duration ops and elite performance in high-tempo environments. It’s rugged, low-profile, and mission-ready. Designed to attach directly to the rear plate carrier or tactical vest, this compact pack rides flush against your body, minimizing snags during movement and breaching scenarios.
This pack is part of the Full Spectrum Battle Equipment (FSBE) suite. It was originally issued to Force Recon, FAST teams, and MEU (SOC) assault elements. It replaced the older CQBE system with a lighter, more versatile load-carrying platform.
Despite its compact size, the MAP can carry a 100oz hydration bladder, breaching tools, comms gear, and mission essentials. PALS webbing on the sides and base provides modularity for extra pouches or tie-downs. The main compartment features a mesh sleeve for hydration systems or radios and is complete with elastic tool loops and dual hose/antenna ports. A secondary front zippered pocket, Velcro patch panel, and cinch straps offer additional function and storage.
These units are new USGI surplus and made in the USA by high-quality government contractors. No shoulder straps are included. This is a MOLLE-mounted assault pack, not a daypack. However, many users successfully retrofit their own shoulder straps for standalone carry.
