The USGI-issue Army Combat Shirt (ACS) Type II is the current standard in flame-resistant tactical apparel. It’s designed for operational performance and built to withstand the demands of combat. It was engineered for wear under body armor systems, minimizing bulk and heat buildup while offering critical protection and utility in hostile environments. This is the same combat shirt issued to active-duty U.S. Army soldiers operating in the field. It’s manufactured in the USA to full military specifications.
This combat shirt features a moisture-wicking, breathable torso made from a cotton-rayon-spandex blend that stretches with movement and keeps the body cool. This specialized torso material reduces chafing, enhances airflow, and fits comfortably beneath armor plates and load-bearing equipment. The sleeves, shoulders, and collar are made from flame-resistant, abrasion-tough materials. These are printed in Scorpion OCP—the Army’s modern camouflage pattern adopted for compatibility with Multicam gear.
The 1/4-zip collar offers improved ventilation and comfort over older mock-turtleneck styles and is optimized for use with plate carriers. Reinforced SuperFabric elbow panels provide extra durability in high-wear areas. Additionally, internal elbow pad pockets are integrated for optional padding. Other features include zippered shoulder pockets, loop fields for identifiers, and a dual-pen forearm pocket. This shirt is purpose-built for those operating in demanding, fast-paced environments.
