USMC Bivy Cover Condition Guide
Like New: These show no signs of use. The black mesh face screen has no holes or rips.
Very Good: These show very slight signs of use other than possible small cosmetic blemishes. The black mesh face screen has only small holes or tears.
Good: These will show signs of use like small holes or tears in the black mesh. Patches may also be present. Bivy Covers will be fully functional with no large holes. These have plenty of life left on them.
Acceptable: These bivy covers are complete and have plenty of life left on them. Black mesh face screen is ripped or torn, patches. May also have holes in the bivy.
Damaged: These are perfect for CIF turn in. With patches, they can be restored to fully functional. They will likely have rips or tears in the bivy sack as well as the bug net.
Note: The face screen would only be necessary if you plan to camp in bug country without a tent. Most Marine are issued these bivy covers with ripped bug nets. If you want the bug net with no tears select “Very Good” or “Like New.”
